From Past to Present
Delabere House first opened its doors in 1863 as the Railway Hotel, a welcoming inn for travellers arriving by train and a cosy alehouse for the locals. Over the years, it had eight different landlords before finally closing its doors in 1967.
In the decades that followed, the building hosted a variety of retail businesses and was reconfigured to create two apartments on the upper floors.
In 2024, Delabere House underwent further refurbishment, adding four contemporary studio apartments on the ground floor and refurbishing the upper floor apartments.
In 2025, the studios were transformed and launched as luxury holiday apartments, followed by the two-bedroom apartment in early 2026. We’re honoured to bring Delabere House back to its roots as a welcoming home-from-home for travellers.
